George Baister of Auriesville
died early this morning at the
Albany Veterans Hospital where
he had been a patient for seven
weeks.
Born in Richfield Springs, he
was the son of John and Marion
Simmons Baister. He attended
Richfield Springs schools.
A veteran of World War I ,
he had been a resident of Auriesville
for the past 26 years. He
was dye house foreman for the
Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Mills in
Amsterdam until his retirement
12 years ago.
Mr. Baister was a member of
Sacred Heart Church of Tribes
Hill, and the American Legion
post of Fonda
Survivors are his wife. Mrs
Madeline Vokasus Baister; four
brothers. John Baister of Fayetteville,
Anthony Baister of
Camden. Joseph Baister of Ava
(Oneida County) and Lewis
Baister of Munich. Germany,
one sister. Mrs Leo Sargalis of
Amsterdam, several nieces and
nephews.
