  Niagara Gazette - 6/30/1971 R A N S O M V I L L E ^ Mrs , Emily Jane. Baker; 97, a member of one of the early fam- ilies in the Town of Porter, died Tuesday (June 29, 1971) in Ransomville General Hospital where she had been a patient for seven years.. She was the widow of Elbert Baker who died in 1938. Mrs. Baker was born In England Dec. 4, 1873, and came to the United States at the age of 5. She was a charter member of the Ransomville WCTU. a former member of Porter Center Methodist Church, and a member of the Dickersonville United Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gordon (Elberta) Stacy, of 3778 Ransom- ville Road, with whom she lived for 29 years, and Mrs.. George (Mildred) Oderkirk of Bergen, and five sons, Lawrence, Courtland, A r t h u r, Frank, and Howard Baker, all of Ransomville, 145 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday at the Hardison Funeral Home, Ransomville, with the Rev. Edward Deighton of the Dickersonville U n i t e d Methodist Church officiating. .Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5'p..m. and 7 to 8 p.m. today.
