P E K I N - M r s . Maude L.
Baker, 81, of 3659 U p p er
Mountain Road, died Wednesday
(Sept, 5, 1962) at Ransomville
General Hospital after
an illness of several months.
Born July 30, 1881, in Bellows
Falls, Vt., Mrs. Baker
was a daughter of Jerry and
Florence Swallow Leech. She
lived in this vicinity for 55
years^A 1902 graduate of, the
former B u f f a l o Normal
School, she taught in elementary
schools inM-rds area until
her marriage to Walter ' L.
Baker in 1906. Mr. Baker died
threes-months ago.
'Mrs. Baker was a member
of Pekin Grange No. 1202.
Surviving are a daughter,
Mrs. S. Edward (Ethel) Eggleston,
Pekin; a sister, Mrs.
Leo Costin.Sr., Kenmore; and
three grandchildren.
Friends may call at Pike &
Jones Funeral Home, Sanborn,
where services will be
conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday
by Rev. Duane Kofahl,
pastor of P e k i n Methodist
Church. Burial will be in Mt.
View Cemetery.-The family
will be at the funeral home
from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m
