- LELAND SHERWOOD
Leland W. Sherwood, 50, of 3700 Lockport Road, Sanborn, died Saturday (Aug. 19, 1972) in the Alexandria Hospital, Alexander Bay, shortly after being admitted. He was on vacation in that area and suffered an apparent heart attack. He was a native of Sanborn and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy; He was employed at the Niagara Mohwak Power Corp. as an electrician for more than 20 years. He was an exempt member of the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company, and of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Christ, at Shawnee. Survivors include his widow, Alice (Lemke) Sherwood; two sons, Timothy G., and Dan R. Sherwood and a daughter, Karen M. Sherwood, all at home; his father, Glen Sherwood of Sanborn; three brothers, Dale G. Sherwood of Layton, Utah, Robert E. Sherwood of Texas and Clayton E. Sherwood of Sanborn; three sisters, Mrs. John (Vesta) Snelgrove, Mrs. Edward (Marian) Forth, both of Sanborn, and Mrs. John (Donna) Valery of Lockport. Funeral services will be held at the Rhoney Funeral Home, Inc., 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, Wednesday at a time to be announced. Burial will be in Wheatfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rhoney Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Monday and Tuesday.
