NIAGARA FALLS — Carl A. Reisig, a lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 5, 2012, while at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 75.
He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on April 18, 1936, the son of Carl Frederick and Dorothy (Wingert) Reisig. He attended local schools and graduated from the former LaSalle Junior/Senior High School, class of 1954. Carl served in the Air Force Reserves and active duty Air Force. He was employed by Niagara Mohawk as a supervisor of real-estate, retiring in 1992 after 37 years.
A lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church, he served the Lord in various capacities including Sunday School teacher, elder, trustee and choir member. Carl believed "that life in Jesus Christ is the greatest gift you could ever receive."
Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Anna Helene (Kromer) Reisig; four children, Linda (Robert) Dean of Vestal, NY, David (Sharon) Reisig of Rochester, Gary (Debbie) Reisig of Wheatfield, Robert (Kelly) Reisig of Hilton, NY; two sisters, Jeanette (late Harry) Schisler, Dorothy ((Joel) Kew of Lewiston; 11 grandchildren, Becky, Kari, Jena, Bobby, Karl, Sarah, Laurel, Connor, Tyler, Karli and Jake; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 PM and Wednesday from 1-3 and 6-8 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls. Funeral services Thursday 10 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 716 Cayuga Drive, Niagara Falls, with Rev. Matthew Sorenson officiating The interment will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Town of Wheatfield. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Memorial Fund at Grace Lutheran Church in Carl's memory.
