- Lenore Thompson Obituary
Lenore Thompson, age 78, of North Tonawanda, passed away peacefully under the compassionate care of Niagara Hospice on October 7, 2024.
Lenore dedicated over 35 years of her life as a Registered Nurse at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, where she was known for her compassion and unwavering commitment to her patients. She touched countless lives with her expertise and kindness, earning the admiration of both colleagues and families.
Beyond her professional achievements, Lenore was a source of strength and grace to her friends and family. She cherished her time at the beach, loved to travel, and found joy in watching the sun set, always appreciating the beauty of the world around her.
Lenore's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
Daughter of the late Leonard and Anna Mae Balling; Loving wife of the late James Thompson; Beloved mother of Leonard Thompson, Tracy (James) Bass, the late Maureen Thompson, and the late James Thompson, Jr. She cherished her role as a grandmother to her granddaughters, Kiersten and Anna Bass. Sister of Jean (Charles) Ryan, Joan (Gregory) Post, Deborah Balling, Kenneth (Maryann) Balling, the late Thomas Balling, Bernard Balling, and William Balling. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Fretthold & Hamp Funeral Home, located at 37 Adam Street in Tonawanda, on October 11th from 5pm- 9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Jude the Apostle, located at 800 Niagara Falls Boulevard in North Tonawanda, on October 12th, beginning at 9:30am. Interment to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of sending flowers, please make memorial donations to The Hydrocephalus Association.
