- Edna Kunselman, 72, of Grand Island, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her beloved family while under the care of Buffalo Hospice. Born in Tonawanda, NY, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Patricia (Clark) Balling.
Edna was a native of Tonawanda, and a 1969 graduate of Tonawanda Senior High School. On May 26, 1971 she married Thomas E. Kunselman, Sr. who was currently serving with the United States Navy at the time. Together they lived throughout New York, Rhode Island and Florida until Thomas' honorable discharge after many dedicated years of service.
Edna was a member of the Golden Age Club and enjoyed playing cards and sewing. Above all, she centered her life around her loving family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Kunselman is survived by her children, Thomas (Holly) Kunselman, Jr. and Michele (Brian) Curtis; her grandchildren, Lila, Raina, Dana, Sylvia (Tyler), Noelle, Austin, Samantha, Dakota and Taresa; two great-grandchildren, Jaden and Lillie; her siblings, Judy Scalisi and Michael (Sue) Balling and was predeceased by her sister, Michele (Mathew Sr.) Bennett. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In accordance to the wishes of Edna there will be no services at this time. Memorial offerings may be made to Buffalo Hospice or Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
