- Mrs. Ruby E. Schultz, of West Shelby, passed away on February 23, 2015 at The Villages of Orleans. Mrs. Schultz was born in Wolcottsville, February 2, 1937, a daughter of the late Edward and Elsie (Meitz) Hellert. A lifelong area resident, she was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wolcottsville, enjoyed the outdoors, flower gardening, farming and shooting. She also operated the "Barnegat Store" in Shelby Center for 10 years. Survivors include her husband, Lyle E. whom she married on July 26, 1969; 3 children, Laurel (John) Harrington, Jr., Larry (Val) Bruning and Mitchell Schultz; 5 grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley, Elizabeth, Hannah and Brock; 2 step children, Gerri Schultz and Darryl Schultz; 2 sisters, Kate (Bill) Thiel and Elsie (Walt) Williams; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, Dorothy Schuler, Robert “Butch” Hellert, Donald Hellert, Marion Washak, and Elizabeth Brauen and foster brother, Egan Rosentreter. There will be no prior calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Friday at 11AM at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6369 Wolcottsville Road. The Rev. Craig S. Rhodenizer will officiate and interment will be in the spring at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church or Alzheimer's Assn., WNY Chapter, 2805 Wehrle Dr., Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221-7383
