Roger W. "Cowboy" Taylor

LOCKPORT — Roger W. "Cowboy" Taylor, of Newfane, NY, rode into the sunset Thursday, June 21, 2012 in Niagara Hospice House, with his family by his side. He was born in Medina, NY, January 8, 1940, the son of the late Frank and Helen Altman Taylor. He married Vivian G. Foley Taylor February 11, 1960; she died June 24, 2006. Roger was the shipping clerk at Stone Container in North Tonawanda, NY for 37 years, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed spending time with his partner "Foxy". Roger was active in the Western Horse Shows and enjoyed playing Western Polo in the 1970s and 1980s.
Father of Travis (Traci) Taylor of Ransomville, NY. Grandfather of Samantha and Michael Taylor, Jillian and Lee Hilliard. Great-grandfather of Noah Hilliard. Brother of Gary (Glenda) Taylor of Newfane, NY. Dear friend of Carol Carmer. Also survived by several brothers-in-laws, sisters-in- laws; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY, MONDAY 2-4 & 7-9 PM, where funeral services will be held TUESDAY at 12 Noon. Burial will be in Corwin Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY, would be appreciated by the family.
