Mrs. Minnie DiVita, 74, of
437 13th St., was dead on
arrival at Memorial Hospital
Friday (Nov. 5, 1965) after an
apparent heart attack.
Mrs. DiVita was stricken at
the home of friends at 307
70th St. at about 5 p.m. She
was given artificial respiration
and oxygen by a fire
department inhalator squad
before being taken to the hospital
by ambulance.
She was a native of Buffalo
and moved to this city over
55 years ago. From 1933
until her retirement 10 years
ago, she operated DiVita's
Tavern at Fourth and Niagara
streets with her husband,
Louis N. DiVita, who died in
1939. v
Surviving are two sons,
Louis F. DiVita, of this city,
and Joseph A- DiVita, of Fair
Lawn, N.J.; a brother-in-law,
Joseph DiVita, of this city,
and 12 grandchildren. A third
son, Samuel, died five years
ago.
Funeral services will be
held at the Rhoney Funeral
Home Tuesday at 8:45 a.m.
and at Our Lady of Lebanon
Roman Catholic Church at
9:30 a.m. Burial will be in
St. Joseph's Cemetery. The
family will be present at the
funeral home from 2 to 5
p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.
on Sunday and Monday.
