- Wilfred E. Wittcop Jr. Obituary
Wilfred E. Wittcop Jr., of Barker, NY, beloved husband of Denise Swanson, passed away peacefully at home on June 20th, 2025, at the age of 70.
Born on December 6th, 1954, in Jacksonville, Florida, Wilfred was the son of the late Wilfred E. Wittcop Sr. and Grace Ann McPhail Wittcop. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and later worked for many years at Oldham Saw in Burt, NY.
Wilfred was a devoted family man. He is survived by his children: Crystal (Jeff) Pastwick, Josh (Shannon) Wittcop, Samantha (Michael) Upton, Cassie (Ross) Kahler, Sapphire Wittcop, and Myles Wilson; and by his cherished grandchildren: Mariah, Nathen, Breonna, Josh Jr., Wyatt, Bella, Jayce, Kinsey, and Zane.
He was one of seven siblings and is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Wilfred will be remembered for his quiet strength, his deep love for family and animals, and his one-of-a-kind spirit. He loved hunting, fishing, and cruising in his cherished Mustang—his epic beard blowing in the wind. At every family gathering, he made sure to get the first piece of ham—one of many small traditions that will be lovingly remembered.
To know him was to love him.
He will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial service to celebrate Wilfred’s life will be held on Thursday, June 26th, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Hess Road Wesleyan Church.
