  North Tonawanda NY Evening News - 1/14/1924 August Bartel. eighty-two years old a veteran of three wars in Germany died last night at his home on the Ruie lead after a lingering illness. Mr. Bartel was born In Germany. He fought with the troops of that country in the wars of 1864. 1866 and 1870. He came to America and took up his rest fence in North Tonawanda forty-one years ago. He had lived here since. Surviving are three sons, Fredinand Bartel of Tonawanda. Gustav J. Bartel of North Tonawanda and William F. Bartel of Los Angeles: two daughters. Mis. John Pankow of Buffalo and Mrs. George Tessmer of North Tonawana a; twenty-seven grandchildren, ten gieat grandchildren and one'sis- Mrs. Justine Demler ot North Tonawanda. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the late residence and half an hour later at the St. Paul's church. Martinsville. Rev. D. H. Steffens officiating Burial will Be in the St. Paul's ceme tary.
