  Lockport NY Union Sun Journal - 12/29/1942 NIAGARA PALLS - Funeral services for Supervisor John E. Bookhout. «4, who died Monday night in Mt. St. Marys Hospital of a heart ailment, will be held at 3 o'clock Thursday at hi« home, 1»5 Maple Ave., and at 2:30 at Calvary Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery. Representing the 13th ward on the Board of Supervisors for 8 years, Mr. Bookhout retired a year ago after 44 years of service with the New York Central Railroad during which time he was yard master and station master in Niagara Falls. Ill health forced his retirement. He was born m Berwick, Ont.. later lived in Syracuse and came to Niagara Falls in 1900. He was a member of Niagara River Lodge FAM and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nellie Bookhout; a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Sales: and two sons, Harry Bookhout, Niagara Falls; Raymond Bookhout, Lockport; and a brother, Albert Bookhout, Berwick.
