The marriage of Miss May Stever,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. G.
Stever of Lewiston, N. Y to Ernest
L. Bates, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Bates of Michigan avenue,
this city, A was solemnized Saturday
afternoon, at 3 o'clock,, in St. Paul's
Lutheran church, the Rev. Nemeschy
officiating. The bride looked
charming In a canton crepe gown
trimmed in lace medallions, The
bride's veil of silk net, edged with
dainty embroidery, was surmounted
by a wreath of orange blossoms.
She carried a bouquet of bride
roses, showered with 'lilies of the
valley and sweet peas, The bridesmaid,
Miss Irene Frank of this city,
also looked charming in a pale yellow
georgette gown, with a head
wreath of leaves to match, and carried
a boquet of tea roses and sweet
peas. The bride's gift to the bridesmaid
was. a sterling silver bracelet
and the groom's gift to the best man,
Mr. August Bates, brother of the
groom, was a pair of Initialed pearl
cuff links. A reception followed at
the homo of the bride's sister, Mrs.
William Eidt, In Pierce avenue. Covers
were laid for 13 at the brlde's
table, which was decorated with
blue and white streamers attached
to small white baskets which contained
a favor for each guest. Mr.
and Mrs. Bates have left on a motor
trip to the Thousand Islands, and
will be at home after July 15 at the
home of the bride's mother, Mrs.
M. G.-Stever.
