  April 2, 2013 Vernon A. Bennett The Tonawanda News NORTH TONAWANDA — Vernon A. Bennett, age 75, of North Tonawanda, April 2, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House after a brief illness. Vernon was a U.S. Marine Corps Korean War veteran. He retired from Exelon Esk after 43 years of service. Vernon was known for his sense of humor and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards. Beloved husband of Donna (nee Stanton) Bennett for over 53 years. Dear father of Charles (Sue) Bennett and Beverly (Charles) Rumbold, both of North Tonawanda; grandfather of nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother of eight brothers and sisters; uncle of many nieces and nephews; son-in-law of Loretta Stanton Edwards; and nephew of Annie Putz. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
