- Obituary for James W. Hooper Sr.
Of North Tonawanda, beloved husband of the late Dorothea (nee Opera) Hooper, treasured father of Holly Batt (late Scott), James Jr. (Susan) Hooper and David (Rebecca) Hooper; loving grandfather to Jeremy Batt, Meghan Young, Leah Hooper, April Hooper, Andrew Hooper and Max Hooper; great grandfather to Teagan Batt, Rocco Batt, Nora Thurlow, Ellie Young and Henry Young; brother of the late Robert Hooper, Irene Schaffer and June Chester; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
James proudly served his country in WWII, rising through the ranks to Staff Sergeant in the US Army.
Visitation Saturday January 21, 2023, in the WATTENGEL Funeral Home, 533 Meadow Dr. North Tonawanda from 11 AM to 3 PM where Funeral Services with Military Honors will follow at 3 PM. Private interment, Elmlawn Cemetery.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Hospice Buffalo for the care and compassion provided in James final days. In lieu of flowers memorials to Hospice Buffalo or McAuley-Seton Home Care.
