  Leandre "Leon" Demers, age 91, of North Tonawanda, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Elderwood at Williamsville. Born in Tupper Lake, New York, he was the son of the late David and Agnes (nee Lacone) Demers. He was the husband of the late Marie (nee Phelan) Demers, who died in August 1995; father of Joseph (Ann) Demers of Arvada, Colorado, Daniel W. Demers of Rochester, Paul (Sharon) Demers of North Tonawanda, and Mary Anne (Gary) Franklin of North Tonawanda; and grandfather of Dane (Lyndsay) Franklin, Andrea (Erik) Dombrowski, Andrew Demers, and Darcie (Nick) Riebe. Also surviving are 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. There is no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM Thursday at Our Lady of Czestochowa R.C. Church, Oliver Street and Center Avenue, North Tonawanda. Friends invited. Inurnment will be cared for privately at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to the V.A. Medical Center, 3495 Bailey Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14215, are preferred by the family.
