- BARRY - Madalyn J. (nee May) Age 88, lifelong resident of the City of Tonawanda, passed suddenly and peacefully July 21, 2015, at DeGraff Memorial Hospital; devoted wife of 61 years to Robert J. Barry Jr. who died in 2007; loving mother of Robert J. (Denise) Barry III, Michael J. Barry, Dennis L. (Karen) Barry and the late Robin Barry; selfless grandmother of Daniel, Kimberly (Ryan), Nicole, Christina (Kevin) and the late Kathryn (Joey); wonderful great-grandmother of Kailee, Ethan, Naomi and Molly; caring sister of Marjorie (Frank Scrabarrasi) Scranton, Mary (late John) Burkholder, Vivian (Gordon) Tussing, David (Marjorie) May, Joan Berringer and the late Bessie (husband Paul) Schmidt and Harvey May; also survived by many nieces and nephews. There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service to celebrated the lives of Madalyn and Bob Barry, Jr. on Thursday, July 23 at 11 AM in Salem United Church of Christ, 114 Morgan St., Tonawanda. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association . of WNY, 2805 Wehrle Dr., Suite 6, Williamsville, NY 14221-7380. Madalyn was extremely generous and family was always her number one priority. She spent her days giving of herself to make sure others felt comfortable, happy and loved. Her fun loving spirit shone through in everything she did. She graduated from THS and was a member of Salem United Church of Christ. In addition to raising a family, Madalyn worked at Jenss, Durez, NYS Ins. Fund and Expedient Heat Treat.
