ROME — Earl S. Wilkes, 69,
of 300-1/2 S. James St., died
Thursday in Rome hospital
after a long illness.
He was born in Rome, son of
Albert and Ann Wilkes. ,He
married Florence M. Beasock
in Rome in 1923. Mr. Wilkes
had always lived in Rome. He
was an employe of the American
Hardwall Plaster Company
for 25 years in Rome. He retired
in I960.
Mr Wilkes was a World War
II veteran. He was a member
Zion Episcopal Church in Rome
and of the Rome City Employes
Union.
He leaves his wife, a daugh-
ter, Mrs. Herbert (Julia Ann)
Abel of Rome, six sons, William
S., Raymond F., James H.,
Richard A., Robert E., Donald
L., all of Rome; two sisters,
Mrs. Teen Bailey of West Lake,
and Mrs. Ethel Boulick of
Latham, and a brother, Albert
Wilkes of Cohoes.
The funeral will be at 2 Monday
from the Griffin & Aldridge
Funeral Home.
Calling'hours are from 2 to
4 and 7 to 9 today and Sunday.
