Anthony J. (Tony) Bechy,
Jr., 65, of 7366 East Main
street, Westmoreland, died
Tuesday in Rome Hospital
after a long illness.
He was born February 10,
1915, in Forest City, Pennsylvania,
the son of Anthony
J. and Molly Novak Bechy,
Sr. He attended school in the
Forest City system and in
Rome.
In 1942 he married Marilyn
Perry. She died December 17,
1975.
Mr. Bechy was employed
as a truck driver with Red
Star Express for over 20
years, until his retirement in
1977. He had previously
worked at Ingersolls North
American Van Lines.
He was a member of St.
Peter's Church, the Teamsters
Local 182 and was
formerly a member of the
Moose Club and Polish Home.
He is survived by six
daughters, Mrs. Robert
(Carol) Hughes of Ballston
Spa, Mrs. Kenneth (Lori)
Rifenburg of Madison, Mrs.
Thomas (Mary) Bikowsky of
Munnsville, Mrs. Thomas
(Patricia) Wilcox of Westmoreland,
Miss Karen Bechy
of Rome and Miss Jeanne
Bechy of Elmira; three sons,
Anthony J. (Jim) Bechy III of
Waterville, Alan R.J. Bechy
of Clinton and Charles A.
Bechy of Owego; three
sisters, Miss Molly Bechy,
Mrs. Paul (Ann) Kilonsky
and Mrs. Vincent (Mayme)
Yagrich all of Forest City;
and 21 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be
held at the Martin J. Nunn
Funeral Home, Inc., on
Friday at 8:30 a.m. and at St.
Peter's Church at 9 a.m.
Interment will be in St.
Peter's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be
tonight (Wednesday) from 7
to 9 and Thursday from 2 p.m.
to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
