WATERLOO - Harold N. Lewis, 60, of
7 East Main St., prominent jeweler in
Waterloo the past 18 years, died last
night in Taylor Brown Memorial
Hospital after a three months illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m.
Monday in the Chapman Funeral Home,
42 North Ann St., Little Falls. The Rev.
John H. Templeton Jr., pastor of First
Methodist Church, Little Falls, will
officiate. Burial will be in Church St.
Cemetery, Little Falls.
Friends may call this evening from 7
to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. at the Little Falls funeral
home. A Masonic service will be conducted
at 8 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral
home.
Born April 25, 1909 in Little Falls, he
was the son of Leta Newell Lewis and
John E. Lewis, a jeweler in Little Falls
for many years.
After his father's death, Mr. Lewis for
a number of years continued the
business and then 18 years ago, he
moved to Waterloo where he owned and
managed the Lewis Jewelry Store.
He was educated in Little Falls High
School and married Loretta A.
Beauchamp in 1935 at the home of his
parents.
He was a veteran of World War II. a
member of First Methodist Church,
Waterloo, and he belonged to the
American Legion VFW; Masonic
Lodge of Waterloo and Little Falls, the
Ziyara Temple, Shriners of utica; Lyons
Club of Waterloo. He was a charter
member of the Little Falls. lions Club
and its first president. He also belonged
to the Commandery, Little Falls
Masons; Seneca Sports mens Club,
Waterloo; Finger Lakes Law Enforcement
Assn., Seneca County.
Survivors include his wife and one
sister, Mrs. Edith L. Whitcher of
Renessalaer; several nieces and
nephews.
