George S. Wheeler, 61, of 79
Monroe St., an employe of the
Upson Co., died Tuesday (May
7, 1968) at the Veterans Administration
Hospital, Buffalo,
where he had been a patient for
two weeks.
He was born June 22, 1906 in
Wellsville, the son of Charles
and Florence Powers Wheeler.
He was a veteran of World
War II and the Korean Conflict,
receiving his discharge as a
master sergeant from the U.S.
Army in 1952. He has been employed
at Upson's since that
time.
Mr. Wheeler was a member
of Veterans of Foreign Wars
Post 2535.
Surviving are his wodow, the
former Dorothy Leach; three
stepdaughters and three stepsons,
John E. Sullivan of Barker,
David K. and James R. Sullivan
of Woburn, Mass., Mrs.
Dorothy Aquino and Mrs. Rosemary
Craft of Lockport Miss
Muriel J. Sullivan of Concord,
N.H.; 12 grandchildren; three
sisters, Mrs. Erwin Becken of
Sanborn, Mrs. Elmer Patrikus
of Buffalo and Mrs. Kenneth
Birdsall of Lockport.
Friends may call from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gaul Funeral
Home Inc., 263 East Ave.,
where the funeral will be held
at 3 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Sidney
S. Robinson Jr., rector of
All Saints Episcopal Church,
will officiate.
Burial will be in Cold Spring
Cemetery
