  July 17, 2014 Catherine M. Markiewicz Lockport Union-Sun & Journal WEST MAGNOLIA, NJ - Catherine M. Markiewicz (nee Platt) entered into rest on Saturday, July 12, 2014 in West Magnolia, NJ. She was born in Newfane, NY, June 2 1952, the twin daughter of Albert and Mary Platt. She was the beloved wife of Edward Markiewicz. The greatest joy of her life was her son, Mimmo Cavaiuolo of Pennsylvania. Cathy enjoyed helping women bring their children into the world, as a labor and delivery nurse and international lactation specialist. Survived by her mother, Mary Platt of Lockport, NY. Also survived by her brothers and sisters, David (Tracy Mellott) Platt of Burt, NY, twin sister, Anne Platt of Lockport, NY, Michael (Susan) Platt of Lockport, NY, Cynthia Bailey of Appleton, NY, Douglas (Peggy) Platt of Burt, NY, Carrie (Daniel) Hogan of Albany, NY, Kim (Andrew) Schuler of Lockport, NY, Matthew Platt of Lockport, NY. She had 25 nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by her father, Albert "Bud" Platt; brother, Steven Platt and infant sisters, Christine and Lynne Platt.
