Edward S. Pysz

LOCKPORT — Edward S. Pysz, of North Tonawanda, entered into eternal life Sunday, November 11, 2012, at the age of 89, at Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, Mr. Pysz resided in North Tonawanda for the past 54 years. He was a retired tool and die maker from Chisholm-Ryder, Niagara Falls, NY, where he worked for 42 years. A U.S. Army veteran of W.W.II, rank PFC, he served with the Division 291st Engineer Combat Battalion and was the recipient of the Purple Heart at the Battle of the Bulge by General George Patton. Mr. Pysz also received the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of Stephen Sikora Post 1322, American Legion. Mr. Pysz was a Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan and enjoyed gardening.
Beloved husband of 65 years to Virginia (nee Duszkiewicz) Pysz. Dearest father of Maureen (Robert) McAndrew of Tonawanda; Debbie Pysz of North Tonawanda; and Gary (Janet) Pysz of Raleigh, NC. Proud and loving grandpa of Heather Snyder-Herr, Trisha Nowark and Brad Snyder; and great-grandfather of Brandon Snyder and Joseph Herr. Dear brother of Chester Pysz, Richard (Kathleen) Pysz, both of Niagara Falls, NY; and the late Frank (Mary) Pysz, Matthew (Sylvia) Pysz and Henry Pysz. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
The family will be present to greet relatives and friends on WEDNESDAY, November 14 from 4 to 8 PM at the SABER FUNERAL HOME, 549 Oliver St., North Tonawanda (692-0271).
Family and friends are asked to gather at St. Jude the Apostle Parish (800 Niagara Falls Blvd.) for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on THURSDAY at 10:00 AM. Entombment, Holy Family Chapel Mausoleum, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Flowers graciously declined. Memorial gifts may be made in Edward's honor to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
Sikora Post will have services on WEDNESDAY at 7:00 PM.
