  Niagara Gazette - 8/20/1948 TOWN OF LEWISTON, Aug. 20- John T. Beggs, 80. died yesterday at the family home, Ridge road, Town of Lewiston. Mr. Beggs was found dead in his chair in the yard by members of the family. Mr. -Beggs Is survived by his wife. Mrs. Rose Beggs; one son, Elwood Beggs, Town of Lewlston; one daughter, Mrs. Howard Bedlent, of Buffalo; five sisters, Mrs. Minnie White. Mrs. Lottie Schultz. Mrs. Robert Comfort and Mrs. James E. Way, all of Niagara Falls, Mrs. John Wiepert, of Ransomville, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the home Sunday at 2:30 p. m. The Rev. James Wilson will officiate. Interment will be in North Ridge cemetery. Mr. Beggs was born In the Town of Lewlston and had resided in that area all his life. In former years he was a successful farmer. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and a former president of the Niagara River Fruit Growers' association. He was an active member of the Dlckersonville Methodist church.
