Frank J. Hartzner. 76, of 8940 W. Rivershore Drive,
a retired operating engineer who had worked for the city
33 years, died Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 14, 1965) at his
home.
Born in "Waterport, N.Y., he
had lived in Niagara Falls for
60 years. He worked for the
city from 1925 until 158
when he retired. Prior to 1925
he worked as an operating
engineer for local contractors.
Mr. Hartzner was a mem-
ber of the operating engin-
eers' union here, the Wood-
men of the World, Moose
Lodge 838 and the Zion Luth-
eran Church. In his younger
days he was a well known
skeet shooter and fisherman.
In addition to his wife, Mrs.
Dora Behrens Hartzner, he is
survived by a daughter, Mrs.
George C. (Dorothy) Jamieson
and a granddaughter, Miss
Heather Jamieson, this city;
two brothers, Charles I.
Hartzner, Niagara Falls, Int.,
and Henry A. Hartzner, Tam-
pa, Fla., and five sisters, Mrs.
A. F. Gilmour, Buffalo; Mrs.
James Lee, Oakfield, N.Y.;
Mrs. roy MacVittie, Mrs.
Margaret Schwenk and Mrs.
Catherine Whelan, all of this
city.
Funeral services will be
held at the family home Fri-
day at 1:30 p.m. with Rev.
Paul Swank, of Zion Luther-
an Church, officiating. Burial
will be in Riverdale Ceme-
tery.
Arrangements are being
made by the Gridley Funeral
Home.
