Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy E. Tomm of 335 William St.,
Tonawanda, announce the engagement: of their daugh-
ter, Gail Mary, to Vincent Joseph Better,, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Vincent L. Beiter of Tonawanda Creek Rd
Pendleton.
Miss Tomm is a graduate of
Tonawanda High School and New
York State College of Education,
Buffalo, and is a member of Pi
Kappa Rho Sorority. She is on the
faculty of the Kenmore public
schools.
Mr. Beiter attended schools in
Lockport and served two years
with the United States Army.
The wedding will take place in
July.

The m a r r i a g e of Miss Gail Mary Tomm, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy E. Tomm of 235 William St.,
Tonawanda and Vincent Joseph Beiter, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Vincent L. Beiter of Tonawanda Creek Rd., Pen-
dleton was solemnized in Good Shepherd Church, Pen-
dleton.
The Rev. Herbert Englehardt
officiated July 1 before an altar
adorned with baskets of white
pompons and gladioli. White satin
bows marked family pews.
Bands of satin ribbon on the
bodice and skirt accented t he
bride's floor length gown of pure
white silk organza. The dress,
worn over satin was appliqued
with rosebud embroidery and the
full skirt extended into a chapel
train. Her triple butterfly veil of
French silk illusion was caught
to a pearl and lace crown. She
carried a cascade bouquet of
phalaenopsis orchids, stephanotis
and ivy.
Miss Judith Tomm, maid of
honor for her sister, wore a white
starched nylon sheer street length
gown embroidered with a mauve
silk rose motif. A mauve cummerbund
and back panels of silk
taffeta were accents and she
wore mauve shoes. A nylon cabbage
rose headpiece and face veil
completed her costume and she
carried a cascade bouquet of purple
California asters and white
button chrysanthemums tied in a
lighter shade of purple ribbon.
Identically dressed were the
bridesmaids, Miss Myrria Walsh
and Mrs. Elden Carlson of
Nebraska who carried purple California
asters and white chrysanthemums
tied with deep purple
ribbon.
Joseph Beiter attended his
brother as best man. Brian Briggs
and Lester Spath were ushers.
The bride's mother cnose a
toast colored dress of peau de
soie designed with a square neckline,
trimmed with sequins and
crystaline beads, a sheath skirt,
similarly trimmed and draped
from the hips into a flat bustle
effect. She wore a beige silk organza
hat of cabbage roses and
matching accessories and a corsage
of yellow roses.
The bridegroom's mother wore
a sheath dress of medium blue
shade with an all-over pattern of
self embroidery, white accessories
and a corsage of pink rosebuds.
Mrs. William Janke, the brides
maternal grandmother wore a
pink lace dress, white accessories
and a corsage of white chrysanthemums
and pink rosebuds.
A wedding dinner followed the
ceremony in the Ship-n-Shore Restaurant
for the immediate families
and an evening reception was
given in the Elks Club, North
Tonawanda with 150 guests at-
tending. White chrysanthemums
centered the head table and simi-
lar flowers the side tables.
After traveling to the Pocono
Mountains, Mr. and Mrs. Beiter
are at home in 5528 Irish Rd.
Prenuptial showers for the bride
were given by Mr. and Mrs. Clyde
Schuster, Miss Judith Tomm,
Miss Myrna Walsh, Mrs. Elden
C a r l s o n and Mrs. Theodore
Maerten and the Misses Bertha
and Ann Tomm and Mrs. Albert
Tomm.
