- Donald S. Durow, 82, was called to his eternal resting place on July 4, 2019. He was the eldest child of the late Karl and Marion Durow, Wilson, NY.
He married the late Gwendolyn (Walters) Durow on July 11, 1959. They have resided in the Lyndonville and Medina area since 1972.
Don served in the US Army from 1960-1966, retired from Monroe Electronics, Inc. (1997), and was self-employed up until 2018. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Lockport, served as a member of the Lyndonville Lions Club, participated in the Special Friends program, Albion, NY, was a Nuisance Control Officer, and served as a teacher/mentor at youth trapper training camps.
Don is survived by his five children, Stephanie O'Brien, Virginia, Julie (Joseph) Hess, Lyndonville, Robert (Marianne) Durow, Batavia, Nancy (Paul) Fordham, Clyde, and Susan Durow, Lyndonville; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother and two sisters. He was predeceased by two grandsons and two brothers.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM, Sunday, July 21, 2019, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 4169 Church Road, Lockport. The family will begin receiving guests/condolences at 2:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Don's memory directly to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Alliance Foundation, Elm and Carlton Streets, Buffalo, NY 14236. Please designate donations be contributed to the Lymphoma Center.
