Michael "Cubby" DiPofi

LYNNWOOD, WA — Michael "Cubby" DiPofi, 50, of Lynnwood, WA, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012, at Swedish Hospital in Edmonds, WA, following a long, courageous battle with cancer, while under the care of Providence Hospice of Seattle, with his family at his bedside. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Joseph F. and Rosalie F. (Siracuse) DiPofi of Niagara Falls, NY.
Known to many people as Cubby, he attended local schools including Buffalo State College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering. After receiving his degree, he was offered a job at Panasonic Avionics in Bothel, WA where he became the Senior Staff Engineer for 16 years. Michael was a dedicated employee and continued to work until the final week of his illness. Michael was also an avid guitar player and member of a band, which recently recorded four songs. He was a homeowner in Lynnwood, WA as well as owning rental property in the area. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 247 in Niagara Falls, NY.
In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his wife, Tian Tang, whom he married in November 2003; his sister, Tina D. (Donald J.) Jacobs of Grand Island, NY; his nephew and godchild, Joseph Jacobs and niece, Leah Jacobs; as well as many other nieces, nephews and cousins. Michael also leaves behind his beloved dog "Lucky" who was his constant companion, as well as many friends in the Washington State area along with friends and family in Niagara Falls, NY and Rome, Italy. He was the beloved grandson of the late Anthony and Vincenza DiPofi and the late Joseph and Emma Siracuse.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Monday, December 17th at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, Mr. DiPofi's family wishes to have donations made to Providence Hospice of Seattle, 425 Pontius Avenue North #300, Seattle, WA 98109; or to Hospice of Buffalo Foundation, 225 Como Park Boulevard, Buffalo, NY 14227.
