Age 104. Beloved husband of 70 years to the late Helen (nee Belczak) Panek. Loving father of Richard (Joanne) Panek of Virginia, Jerome Panek of Colorado, and Annette Panek. Proud and cherished grandfather of Kerri (Jeremiah) Pechin, Tracy (Joseph) Scarpulla, Ricky (Angela) Panek, Celeste (Stephen) Bennett, Adrian (Neoldina) Panek, Marcus (Erin) Panek, Skylar Panek and Margaret Romanowski, Arjay (Tracy) Romanowksi, and Jean (Christopher Hawkins) Romanowski. Great-grandfather of 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Dear brother of Joseph (Helen) Panek and the late Emily (Stanley) Gancasz, Frank (Anne) Panek, Jane (John) Halas, Frances (Marion) Gniazdowski and Helen (William) Kopcho. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Beloved godfather of Nancy Oleske, Wesley Wolak and Jeanette Jackson. Mitchell and his wife Helen ran Panek's Meat Market in North Tonawanda for 35 years and were well-known for their homemade kielbasa. The family will receive friends at the Saber Funeral Home, 549 Oliver St., N. Tonawanda, NY 14120, on Tuesday, May 13th from 4 to 8 p.m. All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, corner of Center Ave. and Oliver Street, on Wednesday, May 14th at 9:30 a.m. Please assemble at Church.
