Notes - John Paul "Jackie" Lauer, Jr., 57, born July 12, 1952, Niagara Falls, New York, passed away November 25, 2009. John and his wife MaryLouise (Whitebread), moved to Las Vegas in 1986. John was a licensed Nevada Realtor, member of and shop steward for Bartenders Local 165 during his 15 years of employment at the Stardust Hotel. One of his proudest achievements was his role in negotiating a severance plan with remuneration and rehire rights for bartenders and culinary employees when the Stardust closed. John's success in a historic, ground breaking, accomplishment was certainly due in part to the mutual respect of his coworkers and management alike. John was an avid reader, well versed in world history and a skilled, lifelong billiards player. He loved to travel and enjoyed fine dining. John loved life and lived it to the fullest. John was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen (McNamara) Lauer; his father, John Paul Lauer, Sr.; and brother, David Lauer. He is survived by his adored wife of 24 years, MaryLouise; brothers, Martin (Evelyn) Lauer, Timothy Lauer, Kevin (Jacqueline) Lauer; sisters, Colleen (Michael) Barone, Maureen (Michael) Spacone and Marybeth (Peter) Campbell; also survived by his uncles, Raymond (Colleen) Lauer, Michael (Ginny) McNamara and Thomas (Jeannie) McNamara; his mother-in-law, Ann Marie Whitebread; sisters-in-law, Cindy (Michael) Rose, Christine (Michael) Stanish; and several nieces and nephews.
