Rushville, Feb. 23 - Mrs. Mae Bellis
Cole, 61, wife of Henry Cole of
Rushville, died Sunday, February
20, in F. F. Thompson Memorial
Hospital, Canandalgua, where she
had been ill for five weeks.
Mrs. Cole was born December 26,
1882, in Bristol, the daughter of
Albert and Lucine Hotchklss Bellis.
She married Henry Cole of the town
of Gorham 47 years ago last fall
and to them nine children were
born, all of whom are living. Mr.
and Mrs. Cole have spent their
entire married life in or near Rushville.
Mrs. Cole Was an active member
of the Rushville Methodist Church,
the W.S.CS., and the Evergreen
Class; and was a vice-president of
the local W.C.T.U. for several years.
Besides her husband, she leaves
two daughters, Mrs. Stacy French
of Rochester and Mrs. Lewis Eddy
of Burdett; seven sons, Howard
and Donald at home, Stanley in
army service in England, Earl, Harry
and Clifford of Rochester, and
Lawrence in army service in North
Africa; eight grandchildren; a sister,
Mrs. Jake Stocking of Wayland;
five brothers, Edward Bellis of
Bristol, Claude Bellis of Stanley,
Stacy Bellis of Newark, Earl Bellis
of Lewisten and Rolland Bellis of
Canandaigua.
A prayer service was held at 1:30
p.ii. today in the Hobart Funeral
Home, with funeral services at 2
o'clock in the Methodist Church,
the Rev. Donald D. Cronk officlaing.
Burial was in Rushville Cemetery.
Bearers were Harold Voorhees,
Harold Gage, Ray Morley, Robert
Gage, Edward Mott, and Herman
Bellis,
