- John M. Lojek ended his worldly journey on December 9, 2016, while in the loving care of his wife and Niagara Hospice House. He lived a full and prosperous life for 74 years. John was born in Niagara Falls on May 8, 1942, to the late John and Mary (Mis) Lojek. John grew up on 27th Street and attended St. Stan's Elementary School. The family moved to Deveaux and John completed his elementary education at St. Teresa's where he became not only friends but lifelong business partners with Carl Virtuoso. He continued his education at Bishop Duffy, Class of 1960. Following graduation, he attended Fredonia State for a year until his father's passing. He opted to attend Niagara University to care for his mother. Again, he returned to Fredonia where he met the love of his life, Marilyn Chrzanowski. He completed his education at Niagara University graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree. John was always a businessperson, even as a youngster. He delivered the Niagara Gazette to 85 plus families, cut grass and shoveled snow for most of Deveaux. While in college he worked at Tavano Prescription Pharmacy and Moore Business Forms (the midnight shift). One of John's neighbors saw something special in the way he spoke with people and his work ethic. He invited him to work for him at Lammerts Buick and Cadillac. John was the ultimate car salesman. He cared for his customers and treated them with courtesy and fairness. He remained with the Buick and Cadillac line for 35 years which is a testament to his outstanding character and his loyal following. John and his beloved wife, Marilyn celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on August 20, 2016. They have lived in Lewiston for 44 years. Many people have commented on the Happy Ads each one placed for their birthdays. People always looked forward to them. John loved to read and followed the news both locally and nationally by reading several newspapers daily. He was an avid follower of the stock market. He and his friends were known to place many a bet on anything that they could. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus (3rd Degree) and the Niagara Falls Country Club. John is survived by his "bride", Marilyn (Chrzanowski) Lojek; a sister-in-law, Rita (late Henry) Lojek of Depew, NY; his nephews, John (Daria), Paul (Nichole), Mark (Cathy); and niece, Judy (Suzanne); and great-nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Henry. He will be deeply missed by his many friends and the extended Chrzanowski family of Paul (Karen), David (Pat), Tom (Kathy) and Rick (Elaine), Michael and Stanley. John was a kind soul with a generous heart. Many of you were recipients of his famous car wash tickets. He loved giving them to friends, doctors and anyone who helped him. Dr. Seuss, philosopher and observer of life once said, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." Travel safely Loj!
