Robert H. Peete, age 85, of Wheatfield, entered into rest on September 29, 2015, at Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport site. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 29, 1930, he was the son of the late Frederick and Violet (Bilson) Peete. Robert served in the U.S. Navy from 1947-1952. He was employed in construction with Operating Engineers Local 463, and for many years he and his wife, Beverly J. (Bement) Peete, who passed on February 19, 2013, ran Peete's Marlboro Inn, in Sanborn. He was a member of the American Legion, Wheatfield Post 1451, enjoyed woodworking, and the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Penny Peete; five grandchildren, Lisa (Joseph) Castro, Matthew, Lori and Steven Burns, and Cody Kowal; five great-grandchildren, Isabella, Raelyn, Ava, Mykenzie and Olyvia; and three sisters, Veronica, Mary and Shirley. Also predeceased by several other brothers and sisters.
Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME (731-3234), 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Michael A. Keicher on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria.
