SMART - Herbert S. Smart of
9023 Asher St., Johnson Creek,
husband of the late Hazel
Benham passed away Saturday
morning Sept. 2, 1972 at the
Newfane Inter - Community
Hospital. He is survived by one
daughter, Mrs. Edgar (Alberta)
Price of Lockport; one stepson,
Francis Brown of Wilson;
One brother, George Smart of
Oakfield; one sister, Mrs.
Gladys Schaper of Basom; four
grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews..
Friends may call Saturday
evening from 7 to 9 and Sunday
from 2 to 4 and 7. to 9 p.m.
at the Wallace & Heath Funeral
Home, Inc., Middleport, where
funeral services will be held
Monday morning at 10 o'clock
with burial in Hartland Central
Cemetery.

Smart, 71, of 9023 Asher St.,
diekl today (Sept. 2, 1972) at
Newfane Intercommunity
Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Smart was the husband
of the late Hazel (Benham)
Smart who died in 1969. He was
born Aug. 13, 1901, in Batavia,
the son of Frank and Susan Van
Volkenberg.
He was a self-employed
plumber and electrician who
had been retired.for several,
years. He was past president
and active member of the
Gasport Lions Club.
He is survived by a daughter,
Mrs. Edgar (Alberta) Price of
Lockport, a stepson, Francis
Brown of Wilson, a brother,
George Smart of Oakfield, a
sister Mrs. Gladys Shaper of
Bason, four grandchildren,
and several nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services will be held
Monday at 10 a.m. at the
Wallace and Heath Funeral
Home Inc., 38 state St., Mid-
dleport. Burial will be in
Hartland Central Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday
from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday
from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
at the funeral home.
