Coroner F. Eugene Ingram
today withheld, pending further
investigation, a death certificate
in the case of Thomas
Benjamin, 44, of 567 75th St,
who was found hanged in the
basement of his home late
Wednesday afternoon.
The body was found by his
wife after she and a daughter
returned home from a picnic
in Canada.
Mrs. Benjamin told Detective
Lt. George Truesdale and
Detective John R. O'Farrell
her husband had been in good
health.
A native of this city, Mr.
Benjamin was a New York
Central Railroad engineer.
He was a member of Masonic
Lodge No. 75, F&AM, and the
Railroad Brotherhood of Engineers.
He is survived by his wife,
Mrs, Mary Benjamin; a daughter,
Rose Marie Benjamin; a
brother, John R. Benjamin,
and two sisters, Mrs. Mary
Mann, this city and Mrs. Elizabeth
Biscula, Youngstown.
Services will be conducted
at First Methodist Church at
10:30 a.m. Friday., the Rev.
Frederick House, will officiate.
The family said that donations
to the New York ..State
Heart Fund Assn. will be acceptable
as tributes.
