Emanuel A. Lichtman. 78, of
39 Proctor Blvd., former
proprietor of Lichtman's
Market on Genesee Street, died
yesterday in St. Elizabeth
Hospital. - - -
He was born in Austria and
attended school there. He came
to the United States and Utica in
1919 and opened the market that
year. He retired in 1960.
He married Bertha Benjamin
in Syracuse in 1920. The couple
had since lived in Utica.
Mr. Lichtman was a member
of Temple Beth El. its Men's
Hub. Moriah Lodge F4A.M.
B'nai B'rith Utica Lodge, and a
charter member of the Men's
Garden Club.
Besides his widow he leaves a
son. Bernard A., New Hartford;
a brother. I. Edward, Utica
The funeral was yesterday
from Temple Beth El under the
direction of Sanford H.
Jacobson. funeral director, with
burial in Temple Beth El
Cemetery. Whitesboro.
