- Barbara Mann Stayner, 86, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 24th, 2024 at OLP Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, New York. Born in Niagara Falls, New York, she was the daughter of the late Perry Mann and late Mary (nee Benjamin) (late Richard) Hellman.
Barbara attended local schools and graduated from LaSalle High School. She was employed by the Niagara Falls Board of Education as a secretary serving the majority of her career at Maple Avenue Elementary School. During her employment, she made lifelong friends with whom she traveled and shared many great experiences during and long after her retirement in the year 2000.
Barbara was a very talented seamstress, and lovingly made beautiful clothes for her daughters Marianne and Lynne. Included among her various talents, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and crafting. An avid reader, Barbara also loved to travel, especially with her children and grandchildren. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren - especially around Christmas when she decorated her house beautifully and made the holiday warm and welcoming for all.
Barbara is survived by her children, Michael Stayner, Marianne Stayner, David (Colleen) Stayner, Lynne (Joseph) Costa, and Daniel (Rebekah) Stayner; her grandchildren, Michelle Stayner, Lea Stayner, Joseph (Karen) Costa, Natalie Sansivero, Daniel (Brittany) Costa, Jessica (Greg) Santangelo, Joshua (Janelle) Krupp, Jacob Krupp, Noah Stayner, Benjamin Stayner, Sarah (Joshua) Bado, Ryan Stayner, Bailey Stayner; her adored great-grandchildren, Isabella Costa, Gianna Sansivero, Louis Sansivero, Jonathan Costa, Camden Costa, Josephina Santangelo, Lorenzo Santangelo, Michael Krupp, Caroline Krupp, and Evelyn Bado; her former husband, Roy Stayner, her steadfast healthcare aide and friend Ashley Sarazen, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, Olwynne ‘Ginger’ Hoffman, and William (Barbara) Mann.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4th from 10 AM - 12 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, 14304, where memorial services will begin at 12 PM, followed by Inurnment in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
