NEWFANE. Sept 23 - Masonic
funeral services for Benjamin F.
Richards. 90, former mason contractor,
who died Sunday evening at
his home on Euclid avenue, will be
held Wednesday at 3 o'clock in toe
home. Burial will be In Corwin
cemetery.
Mr. Richards, son of the late David
and Margaret Richards, was born
on toe Hess road, town of Newfane,
July 19, 1850. He had lived In this
town all of his life. He was married
to Martha Wright, May 1, 1870.
Between 1870 and 1890 Mr. Richards
worked in 40 states of the Union.
He was in charge of toe masonry
work on the old Hodge Opera house
and John Jack paper mill Lockport.
All of Mr. Richard's brothers were
contractors, one being killed In the
Civil war. ,
Mr. Richard's parents came to
this country from Swansea, Wales.
They settled at Quebec, moving to
Niagara county in 1835.
He was a member of Newfane
lodge 947, F. and A. M. and he was
affiliated with Scottish rite lodges
in Lockport.
Besides his wife, he is survived by
a son, Roy S. Richards, Buffalo;
three daughters, Mrs. Jessie R.
Enderton, Burt; Mrs. Glenn R.
Seeley, Barker; Mrs. Edmund A.
Bennett, Buffalo; eight grandchildren
and six great grandchildren
