MIDDLEPORT - Walter S.
Bensley of 52 Sherman Road,
died yesterday at Veterans
Hospital in Batavia following a
long illness.
Mr. Bensley was born in
Medina April 23, 1915 the son of
Gerald and Johanna (Redmond)
Bensley. He was a
career man in the U.S. Army
for 26 years, retiring in 1968 as
a sargeant major. He had
served in World War H in the
Pacific.
He had lived in Middleport
for the past 13 years and was a
member of the Medina Moose,
Medina VFW Post and the
Middleport American Legion
Clute-Phillips Post. -
Surviving are his wife, Ellen
(Davey) Bensley; two sons and
one daughter, Dennis M.
Bensley of Baltimore, Md.,
Mrs. Richard (Mary) Stillinger
of Medina, Gary L. Bensley, at
home; six grandchildren; his
mother, Mrs. Johanna Bensley
of Medina; four brothers,
Gerald R. Bensley, Raymond
Bensley, Robert Bensley and
Donald Bensley, all of Medina;
four sisters, Mrs. Phyllis
Thompson Of West Seneca,
Mrs. Roger (Rita) Barry, Mrs.
Harold (Mary) Whiting and
Mrs. George (Lucille) Hotchkisss
all of Medina; several
aunts, uncles, nieces and
nephews.

7-9) at the Bates, Wallace and
Heath Funeral Home Inc., 38
State St., where a vigil service
will be held tonight at 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held
Wednesday at 9 a.m. at St.
Stephen's Roamn Catholic
Church where a mass of
Christian burial will be
celebrated by the Rev. Samuel
J. Faiola.
Burial will be in St. Stephen's
Cemetery.
