- BENZINO - Walter G.
Passed away peacefully at age 80 in Dublin, Ohio on Wednesday October 26, 2022. He leaves behind a daughter, Lori (Craig) Ryan and two granddaughters, Natalie and Chloe Ryan. He is the son of the late George and Dorothy Benzino. Walter was born in Tonawanda and a longtime resident of North Tonawanda. He was a 1961 graduate of North Tonawanda High School and after high school proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from Delphi Thermal Systems in Lockport where he worked as a welder for close to 30 years. He had been an active member of the Ken-Ton Masonic Lodge, Buffalo Scottish Rite Consistory and Ismailia Temple. He enjoyed deer hunting in his younger days and participated in trap shooting leagues for many years at the Tonawanda’s Sportsman’s Club. He loved attending church and was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder, usher and went to adult Sunday school. His hobbies included bicycling, playing golf, attending Buffalo Bandit games, listening to music and ballroom dancing. The family would like to especially thank Sunrise of Dublin for their exceptional care for Walter over the last 6 years and Capital City Hospice for the care and support during his final days. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 2 - 6 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan and Broad Sts) in Tonawanda, where a Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 10 AM. Everyone is welcome to attend. Burial will follow in Elmlawn Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Walter’s name.
