  Berner, Howard C. age 93 of the Town of Tonawanda Saturday March 7, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Nina K. Berner; Dear father of Janet (William) Ryan of North Tonawanda; Grandfather of Daniel (Amanda) Ryan and Elizabeth (Elijah) Thompson; Great grandfather of Micah Thompson and Guinevere Ryan; Brother of Wilbur (Maureen) Berner of Jamestown; Also survived by two nephews and two sisters in law. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Monday from 3-7 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 2 PM. The Rev. Elizabeth Duffy will officiate. Interment in St. Matthew's Cemetery, Gardenville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion United Church of Christ 15 Koenig Circle Tonawanda, NY 14150. Howard was an Air Force veteran of World War II and a former member of American Legion Post 264. He worked as a senior operations clerk at Niagara Mohawk for over 50 years.
