Helen Sojka (Podsiadlo), 90, of Sanborn, NY passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Schoellkopf Health Center. She was born March 3, 1925 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of Vincent and Josephine (Bryla) Podsiadlo; wife of the late Julian H. Sojka.
Helen was self employed and owned several social establishments such as Swiezy's Delicatessen, The Marlboro Inn, Eiffel Tower and The White House. She enjoyed entertaining her family and friends.
Helen was predeceased by Walter (Irene) Podsiadlo; husband, Julian H. Sojka, Jessie (Ted) Stachyra, Estelle (Walter) Gross, and son, Julian T. Sojka.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Christine (late Neil) Hardman, daughter-in-law, Kathleen Sojka and her grandchildren, Elaine (Michael) Parenti, Erin (Chuck) Clothier, Clark Sojka and great grandson, Chucky Clothier and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior visitation. Mrs. Sojka donated her body to science research in the Anatomical Gift Program at the University at Buffalo. A memorial service will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family. Donations in Helen's memory may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
