- Christine H. (Sojka) Hardman, 76, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on September 14, 2024 at Our Lady of Peace Health Care Facility in Lewiston, NY, following an unexpected illness. Christine was born July 24, 1948 in Nagara Falls, NY, to the late Julian and Helen Sojka. She and her family then moved to Sanborn, where Christine attended local schools. On June 10, 1978, Christine married the love of her life, Neil Hardman. They shared 28 years of matrimony, until Neil's passing in 2006. Together they had one child, Erin Kelly, born in 1980. In 2010 Christine retired from her position at Northgate Health Care Facility, to take on her new roll, and help care for her one and only grandchild, Charles "Chucky" Clothier Jr. During her retirement, Christine enjoyed spending time and hosting the family at her house, where she would cook meals, share family history and a good laugh. Christine is survived by life long friends, Rosemary Wojick, and Sandra Buekema, daughter, Erin (David) Timmer; grandson, Charles Clothier Jr.; niece, Elaine (Michael) Sojka-Parenti; nephew, Clark Sojka; sister-in-law, Kathy Sojka; several cousins, and fur babies Ginger and GG. She was also predeceased by a brother, Julian T. Sojka; and several aunts and uncles that were dear to her. Christine donated her remains to the anatomical gift program, at the University of Buffalo, for scientific research. Visitation will take place in the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Saturday (October 5) from 4-6 p.m. A celebration of life will follow at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Christine's honor, to the American Stroke Association.
