- Stephen Swidergal, 62, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away peacefully at home on Monday February 6, 2017. He was the son of the late Michael and Dolores (Koban) Swidergal. He was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and entered the United States Air Force in 1976, where he served as a Master Sergeant for 20 years in the 914th Aerial Port Squadron out of Niagara Falls.
In addition to being retired from the Air Force, Steve also retired from Nabisco after 28 years of service as a shredder operator. Steve was a member of Moose Lodge #180 on Grand Island and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. In his spare time Steve enjoyed playing cards with his buddies, going to the casino, hanging out with his dog, visiting wineries, and vacationing in Myrtle Beach.
He is survived by his daughters Jennifer (Michael) Wesolowski and Amanda Swidergal, loving companion, Mary Cantlon, niece, Kelly (Christian) Pollitt, and grandchildren, Zachary Wesolowski and Brianna Wesolowski.
Friends will be received on Saturday February 11th at the ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC. 319 24th Street, corner of Welch Ave, Niagara Falls, NY where military funeral services will take place at 2:00PM, with Pastor Matthew Kofahl officiating.His ashes will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Rd, Niagara Falls, NY, 14304.
