KILLED IN GERMANY-Private
First Class Robert J. Berthot,
19. son of John A. Berthot. of Linwood
avenue, and the late Eva
Berthot, was killed in action in
Germany on March 25, according
to word received from the War
department.
A graduate of the Niagara Falls
high school, Private Berthot was
employed at Gassler's bakery before
entering the army in August,
1944. He received his basic training
at Fort McClellan. Ala., and
left for overseas service in January.
1945. He saw service in Belgium,
France and Germany.
He is survived, besides by his
his father, by seven brothers, Corporal
Earl in Belgium, Sergeant
John in the Philippines, Private
Gerald in France, Seaman Second
Class Richard ln Texas. Private
Donald in Georgia and Edward,
and Joseph, of this city, and by three
sisters. Mrs. William Wheeler.
Mrs. Ralph Blaine and Leona
Berthot, all of this city.
