  Monticello NY Republican Watchman - 1/7/1949 'Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Ramsey's Funeral Home in Liberty for Francis Tompkins , 76, an old-time grist miller and native of Ferndale. He died Tuesday at his home on the Neversink Road. Rev. Lloyd B. Gilmour, Liberty Methodist pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery. Mr. Tompkins was a son of David and Eliza York Tompkins. He was born April 26, 1872. Two daughters, Miss Rosanna Tompkins and Mrs. Florence T. Beseth, both of Liberty, survive.
