LOOKPORT, Nov. 20.-Refusal of
the attending physician to sign a death
certificate, yesterday moved Dr. P. A.
Klttinger, coroner, to announce that he
will hold an inquest in the death of
Walter J. Kline, 53 years old, who died
on Saturday after several weeks' Illness.
Although Kline was critically ill with
a carbuncle on his neck, only Christian
Science practitioners were called until a
few hours before the man's death. Coroner
Klttinger said he had been told.
Dr. H. H. Mayne, called after Kline
lapsed into unconsciousness, refused to
sign a death certificate, according to
the coroner.
At an autopsy held yesterday, upon
direction of Coroner Klttinger, physicians
found that the man died of ab-
cesses on the liver and spleen attributed
to poison from the carbuncle,
which was six Inches in diameter. Drs.
F. W. Barry and J. O. Heal performed
the autopsy
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Florence
O. Kline; his father, Joseph M. Kline;
two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Herbert
Glover and Miss Mina Kline of
Lockport and Victor W. Kline of the
Ridge road
