  Notes	Niagara Gazette - 4/28/1956 St. Joseph's Church was the setting for the nuptials of Miss Norma R. Bevacqua, daughter of Peter Bevacqua, 16th St., and thel at Mrs. Bevacqua, and Harlan L. Nielsen, nephew of Miss Florence Bossraan, Warren, Minn., who were united in marriage this morning (April 28, 1956) at 9:45 o'clock in a double-ring ceremony. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. P. J. Tronolone officiated before the altar adorned with bouquets of white gladioli and chrysanthemums. White bows marked the pews and the St Joseph Choir sang. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of embroidered tulle and satin with a portrait neckline edged with pleating and scalloped embroidery and a full skirt of pleated t u l l e and embroidery. Her beaded queen's crown held a fingertip-length veil of double illusion handmade Belgian imported lace. She carried a lace bound Italian prayer book which was centered with a large white orchid, surrounded by white tea roses and streamers of stephanotis and lilies of the valley. The Italian prayer book is 25 years old and was a gift from her mother. Miss Norma Benvenuti, maid of honor, wore a mauve lace chiffon gown with a halter neckline of chiffon and a long lace torso, with a full chiffon skirt, and matching lace jacket. Her headpiece was of mesh trimmed with flowers and a face veil. The bridesmaids, Miss Terese Bettino and Mrs. Sam Scrivano, wore gowns and headpieces similar to the maid of honor, but Nile green in color. They carried cascade bouquets of -talisman roses.' Miss Francine Bevacqua and Miss Susan Riggi were flower girls. Vincent De Rose was best man and the ushers were Ernest Bevacqua and Sam Scrivano. Peter Bevacqua and Marshall Lago served as pages. Breakfast and dinner were served at the Como Restaurant and a reception will be held at the CIO Hall. For a motor trip to New York City and Minnesota, the bride will depart in a black and white suit with black and white accessories, and a fur stole ornamented with a white orchid. After May 10. the couple will be at home at 620 16th St.

  January 14, 2014 Norma Rose Nielsen Niagara Gazette NIAGARA FALLS — Norma Rose (nee Bevacqua) Nielsen, 81, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2014 in Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, FL, after a brief illness. She was born on April 13, 1932 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Maria (nee Cariolana) and Peterangelo Bevacqua. She was educated in the local schools and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. On April 28, 1956, the former Norma Bevacqua married Harlan L. "Hal" Nielsen in St. Joseph Church. He passed away on January 10, 1996. For many years, Mrs. Nielsen worked as a secretary for Vanadium Corporation and the Alcohol Council of Niagara County retiring in the mid 1990's. Norma was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Italian Sons and Daughters of America Power City Lodge. Her pastimes and hobbies include cooking, baking, gardening, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Norma is survived by two sons, Mark P. (Beth) Nielsen of Longwood, FL and Harlan D. "Hal" (Amy) Nielsen of Orlando, FL; six loving grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; six brothers, late Anthony Bevacqua, late Burt Bevacqua, late Paul Bevacqua, late Ernest Bevacqua, late William Bevacqua, late Frank Bevacqua; and five sisters, late Antoinette Bevacqua, late Elizabeth Pantepinto, late Carrie Lago, late Margaret Riggi, and late Mary Guagenti. The family will be present to receive friends on Friday from 4-8 PM at the SPALLINO-AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls, NY, where prayers will be said on Saturday morning at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated from Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church 1413 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls, NY. Rev. Stewart M. Lindsay, OSFS, officiating. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Family and friends invited.
