  Lockport NY Union Sun Journal - 5/22/1929 Mrs. Frances Merle Bewley, 53 years old, wife of Richard Bewley, died at a o'clock this morning at her home In Lake avenue after an extended Illness. Three years ago she suffered a stroke which left her an Invalid. Since then she had two other strokes, the last occurring yesterday. Mrs. Bewley was born In Lockport on July 25, 1375, the daughter the late Mr. and Mrs. George Stegman. She was a member of Myrtle Lodge, 54, Daughters of Rebekah and Mary Carrier Guild of Christ Episcopal church. Although unable for some tune to take an active part In the activities of these organisations she bore her long illness with a fortitude and cheerfulness which seemed remarkable to her many friends. Surviving Mrs. Bewley, besides her husband are two daughters and four eons, Mrs. Herman Smith, George R. Bewley, Charles 0. Bewley, Joseph H. Bewley, Francis D. Bewley and Mildred M. Bewley, all of Lockport. and one brother, Charles Stegman, of Long Beach, Calif. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Christ church, Market and Vine streets. Burial will be in Cold Springs cemetery.
